About The Inventors

The Green Roadway™ Project was created, developed and patented by Gene Fein and Ed Merritt.

Fein and Merritt discovered their good chemistry while barbecuing with their families in their backyards. Their creativity and passion for ideas led them to form Genedics.

For Gene Fein, inventiveness came early. As a child he developed a weighted baseball for throwing curve balls. In law school the study of copyrightable object code consumed his attention. His knack for looking just ahead of the market became apparent during his time in the television business, where he leveraged new internet technologies to stream and broadcast sports and music on the web. In the process, he started to recognize the value of intellectual property, and it was during this period that Fein began to realize his love for creating intellectual property and its potential implications.

Ed Merritt is a sculptor. After fine arts training in Boston and Amsterdam, Merritt ran his own studio, where he sculpted in metal, wood, and glass, or combined materials. His spatial thinking abilities brought him into collaboration with scientists, architects and ultimately, with his media executive friend, Gene Fein. One of Merritt's roles involves refining and crystallizing conceptual ideas by carrying them forward onto paper with illustrative graphics. Merritt has earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Kent State University and went on to earn an MFA from Massachusetts College of Arts.
